JILL ROSS
FOR
CHARTER REVIEW COMMISSION
DISTRICT 3, POSITION 1
Representing your voice with integrity and purpose

ISSUES
As a Clark County resident since 1986, I understand the importance of a strong and responsive local government. The County Charter is our community’s foundational governing document. Every five years a 15 member Charter Review Commission is elected to review the Charter to ensure it remains aligned with the will of the people.I believe in thoughtful, commonsense solutions that strengthen local governance and reflect our community’s values. By carefully reviewing the Charter and proposing needed adjustments, we can ensure a more effective balance between professional management and public oversight. I’m committed to listening to your concerns and representing your voice with integrity and purpose. My priorities will be:
1. Support our law enforcement for a community that is business and family friendly.
2. Promote fiscal responsibility. We have to live within our means, so should government.
3. Improve accountability and transparency.ENDORSEMENTS - Go to my Facebook page to see comments.

About
As for my qualifications, I hold a bachelor’s degree in Business Management and have worked professionally as an Insurance Representative for Horace Mann and State Farm. I also worked as a flight attendant while living in Alaska. After starting a family, I chose to homeschool my two daughters through 8th grade. They later graduated from Prairie High School and Washington State University Vancouver and continue to live and work in the area.In addition, I became a certified Tai Chi instructor, a journey that was featured in The Reflector. I’ve taught classes for Clark College Community Ed, Glenwood Senior Living, The Quarry, and currently work with Firstenburg Community Center and Cascade Athletic Club. My community involvement has always been rooted in improving well-being—and I intend to carry that same passion into public service.I also have experience working with governing documents like the Charter. I spent more than a year working on a full rewrite of a nonprofit’s constitution, followed by writing policies for several of its committees. That kind of hands-on experience with real-world governing documents gives me a solid foundation to serve effectively on the Charter Review Commission.A few years ago I became a Precinct Committee Officer and am the Chair of a Forum at Fairway Village, where we bring speakers, candidates and elected officials to educate and inform our community.I love this county where I have lived for almost 40 years and raised my daughters. I hope to give something back that will shape and preserve its future my children and grandchildren.
